Dear Members, Visitors, Friends,
November 2006 Featured Design:~
Kwaku:thumb43530245:
Now, this month's feature is a bit late and for that we apologize. Things have been moving really fast with the website being underway and all. Anyways, We'll leave the details of that for another journal entry. What we want to point out is this month's poll result. If you head on over here:
[link] you'll see the results are by far the most competitive in dC history. What does this mean? Well, we believe it's testimony to not just the popularity of the feature but it's importance. Winning this basically means that your design is approved by the majority of your peers. We do believe that you should take it seriously and appreciate that your work is being granted such exposure and appreciation. However, the real honour will be winning Design of the Year award. A process in which we will set up to be rigorous so as to choose the BEST.
Look out for it because it approaches soon.
Congrats to ~
Kwaku on his win.

For quite a while now the 'interface me' contest was running and the past few weeks were intense with the voting and deciding which design will be dC's interface. Well, the time is upon that we'll know for certain which design won.
First and foremost, thanks to everyone who participated, congrats to the TOP 5 members whose design made it so far. All your designs rocked solid.

duhcooliesI voted for ~
rzepak's design in the polls and again i vote for him. Not that I think ~
keithar's design doesn't rock hard enough, it def does... it's just that i see a lot of usability issues in ~
keithar'sand the site load will be huge with ~
keithar's design if that gets implemented at the start of dC
So ~
rzepak gets my vote with his design

TheRyanFordMy decision was based on a usability standpoint. A vast majority of the entries were visually stunning, but if we're to create a portal for designers we have to make the design of it usable and functional above all else. ~
rzepak's work, among the final entries, was the most functional and feasible and I could actually see it being a site that could be used by myself. While the other finalists were beautiful designs, they were over the top and just didn't suit the needs as well as ~
rzepak's work did.
I'd also like to give a shout-out to ~
proj's work. I was gunnin' for it!
`
bornghostLike most of the other judges, I too voted for ~
rzepak's over ~
keithar's due to the difference in overall usability as an actual site design. For a concept, ~
keithar's was extremely cool and somewhat innovational, but to actually make that into a website would be very difficult. Therefore, ~
rzepak got my vote as well.
Good job to all of the contestants. The winning designs were all really excellent, and I'm hoping I'll be around for the next time we do this.
`
depthskinsThis was really a tough call, all the designs that made the TOP 5 were just amazing so I had to shift my focus on functionality keeping creativity and style close in mind. While I loved ~
Holy-Promethium design because I see it being functional I had to go with ~
rzepak's because apart from it being simple and functional, it's more unique and stylish and I'm not saying the others weren't unique and stylish, just lacked functionality from my viewpoint.

Well, for those who haven't checked dC's recently submitted deviation, you should because =

rzepakThe above is dC's Core team responsible for the development of the website. For those of you who offered your time and assistance, don't count yourself out just yet.
So today, we presented to you 3 small steps that goes towards the future of dC.
The website design. The logo design. The development team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SupportIt's also possible that dC might need financial support in it's early stages from you the members. It's not a certainty as yet but we'd like to put it out there. However, it's not going to be the cliche "donate" situation. We'll offer a few things up for sale and you'll purchase in support of dC, that way you get a little something back for your support. Sounds fair?
For our winners: you will be contacted shortly regarding your prize. ThanksKind regards,
